vacation

we stopped at murring lake along the way to whistler....dougy got some fishing in and we hada nice lunch...i made ham sandwhiches!

doug said to me at green lake "ill put sami down for her nap" i go in one hour as i hear snoring....look what i found! they slept for over two hours!

breastfeeding

before i post about the rest of our vacation i want to say this. when i had sami i wasnt too concerned about breastfeednig, if i could great if not, that was ok. its been 4 months. its very handy in some ways, mobile, no need for bottles...cleaning ect. but i also dont like it for reasons. im still breaking out in a sweat half the time when feeding. i feel like im "stuck" more to the home....although she does take the bottle sometimes it can be a struggle ...especially if its me trying to give her the bottle. im hoping to make it to 5 or even 6 months and see how it goes...maybe do like 9 months of once a day if i can? im grateful i can breast feed and she gts all he good stuff but sometimes i just wish.....not for the formula bill though!

First off let me say....

its so much work going away, pack than coming home unpack clean...groceries...ect...but well worth it...

we started our trip off at green lake for 3 nights! sami did awesome here. only cried once the whole trip...slept wherever she was put anddi well!

i will add more in a bit. doug would like the computer now...

new stuff

YO! too bad i didnt bring my camera connector...no pics sorry! we are currently up at green lake enjoying the sun and all life has to offer- quading, swimming, reading, beer. its very nice. we had full intentions of going camping but the fire ban is on everywhere so we decided we will just do thisanother weekend for sure once this summer! we plan on heading back home wed for a night and than making our way up to whistler thur/ friday for a night up there! sami has been adapting well. she had to take a bath in the big bath and didnt like this, she was confused and slippery and cant really sit up on her own. although she held on to the side of the bahttub and held herself up for like 10 seconds! i think she might jsut skip the whole crawling stage andmove to walk eventually. she hates tummy time, although we got this cool contraption at a garage sale that is a tummy time toy. i will have to post a pic, it has a mirror you look into and twirl around, she loves this. repo, our dog, is up here with us and doing well. although sad to say, he is getting old, and really cant handle any heat. he is ? 6 years old, i believe this is old for an american bulldog. i love him cause he is low maintenence and good gaurd dog but he really stinks. i made the mistake of tying him to a tree and washing him before we left, andall we good smell was weet dog the whole way up, sad to say, we got used to the smell. also, when we were driving up a car passed us on a whindy strip and infront of them was this truck/trailer....this car started swerving all over and honking continuosly at this poor truck, who wasnt even going that slow maybe 80-90km? eventually the truck pulled over for people to pass and this little car was insane and such a rude driver. doug felt like calling the police but we didnt. anyways we ended up seeing the car like 1 hour later at a rest stop we passed and it was like, "really, does going 10 km an hour faster get you there any faster?" no. doug has a speacilist appointment on thursday with a neorologist for his numb fingers. i think they will give him troble as he was suppose to follow up with his neurosurgeon after his surgery and never did.

WE also celebrated our 2 year anniversary up here. we had porl chops and corn on the cob, all made by dougy. it was nice. some of the qualities i appreciate about doug are ones that drive me crazy: he always does things right the first time, which takes more time and patience.....his silliness...for those of you who dont know he is very silly....he is strong- physically (jsut ask my sisters we helped them move) and emotionally, unlike me who is an emotional mess usually. he appreciates the outdoors and loves nature and God's earth.

Bone spurs

Hey;
i dont know if anyone knows anything about bone spurs? about 6 years ago doug lost feeling through his arms and eventually his leg and he started walking with a limp and got diagnosed with bone spurs- he had surgery where they took some bone from his hip to replace on the front of his neck. this week doug was saying his hands had pins and needles and loss of feeling again. he was worried it might be bone spurs vs. carpel tunnel? i made him a dr appt for monday but does anyone know if you have had them before if they are more likely to come back? im hoping not, for both our sake, apparently he was off on disability for months, as the recovery with physio is long. i met him when he was pretty much recovered from this.
ps: my sister rish came over last night and she got so many giggles from sami using the word "doh" it was so cute!

life

our "two kids" for 24 hours. doug's niece, olivia is in kamloops so when we get a chance to hang with her we try and have lots of fun. her mom, angie (dougs sis) lives in kamloops and works full time! Olivias dad is currently back in africa and we are excitingly waiting for his return! its nice to have cousins for sami to play with!

doug grandfather getting some giggles. dougs grandaprents are in their 80'sand our doing so well. its one of our highlights every trip to kamloops to go see them. they are very spirited. i asked them what the key to a lifelong marriage, and his grandfather i believe said something along the lines of keep it light and humor. they are awesome people! glad to have them, and dougs whole family in our lives!

we are so blessed to have a happy, healthy family. After my scare with my health when i had sami, i am thankful every day for my health. i guess as much as we dont want to we can take it for granted when we have it. it still makes me very emotional and teary to think of how sick i was and how great life is! thankful to God everyday i have such a wonderful family, extended family and in laws!

bachelorette and 2 kids!

i was very disapppointed the bachelorette was cut short because of jake and vienna, i wont even comment on how disgusting that was. i still like chris, but have a feeling roberto will "win".
we had dougs niece over night on sunday. it was different having 2 kids. i felt like sami was neglecteed, but that is probably normal. our niece, olivia, is a peach. because she is my niece i wanted us to have fun, so we kept her entertained. we went to the park 3 times, watch cinderella 2 (doug watched with her both times and fell asleep both times). watched some dora, and went shopping for some fun stuff to play with. i guess if they were both my own, we would have a routine and it wouldnt be as exhuasting? we made a decision, no more babies for a very long time. although they were good ages together- olivia is almost 3. i will post some pics later of our fun times together. it was fun being able to play with a kid instead of just feed, a couple quick giggles and nap time.
i made strawberry jame with joanne yesterday, my dads wife. it was really nice, sami slept in the crib at their house, and it was good. smelt incredible, havent tried it yet, but im sure its sensational. i made applesauce last year. i enjoy cooking/ baking and doing these such things but find i just dont have all that much time to do this with sami around. tonight im going to make a big batch of meat/ pasta sauce, for freezing for hte rest of the summer. too hot to cook.

i promise to update this blog at least every 1-2 weeks. i will try to find different things to write about and update my life. today, for example, we are taking dougs niece who is 2.5 years old, it will be interesting having two "kids" and see how everything goes.....

Just wanted to put a few thoughts and guesses. I believe kirk is gone this week, than ty the next. than frank admits he is still in love with his ex. it comes down to roberto and chris, and of coruse everyone loves chris the most, there fore roberto "wins". should be good.

valentines day

WEll i ve had a few people ask what we did for valentines day;

not much!
On friday we "crossed the border" for mexican food! OH so good....
Saturday we hiked from the bottom of mission to the top of the hill the "abby"; its nice to be able to hike in "your own backyard"

doug got me a lot of tulips...a relaly pretty colour;
we went on walks this week, and hung out it was really nice;
doug is getting into making me breakfest like 2-3 times a week! He makes this really good "scrambled/ omelete" with peppers and onions and mushrooms, it s incredible...probably even better cause i dont have to cook it!

we found out doug hates valentines day....by the end of the day i did too pretty much....
other than that...i got a rock chip repair at this awesome place for 20$;
im studying a little as i am updating my "managing cardiac emergencies" in a couple weeks! its a full day practical exam!

i go to the gym about 3-4 times a week and feel good about it!
i love the bachelor and the finale is coming up...i think i will watch it with my sister maria in a couple weeks!

Repo, our "puppy" (bulldog) hurt his paw this last week. He has a sort of pustle/ open area in between the "fingers" doug has been cleaning it Twice a day and he is walking pretty much normal...although he plays it up and i ended up cuddling/ huggin him for about 10 mins yesterady because he is so DArn cute...!

the house leak

we went to vnacouver isl on sat to see my uncle Al and Oma. They are doing well and we had a great visit. We got home and foudn a wet stove and kitchen floor....coming from leak in the sink hose in the upstairs bathroom....all the way through the celing...this is what our bathroom looks like now...it is gettting dried out and dehumidied?? its very loud.

FUN STUFF

A little catch up. Last couple months...house repairs. Working a lot. We went to golden ears, the chief, and seen friends a bunch. the wedding is finally coming close! we are both so excited.
i am house sitting with my best friend, robyn, right now, so i will be sure to get some pics of that! we are having fun even though we are both so busy. our wedding hall burnt down, its a little more stress...but its ok...it will get worked out. we did go to seattle...got some booze for the wedding nad looked for ties for hte guys...we are having a hard time finding the exact colour, any ideas? i did get the bridesmiads necklaces that match.

This is doug and i at golden ears last month. It was fun. You know what was funner....the chief. We did that his weekend. it was funny. Doug had no idea what to expect. and was frustrated in the beginning. But i must say towards the end, he showed his endurance and beat me!

well first off i have to say.

whats new?
well we bought a house in mission. i want to gt pics and put them up...eventually. right now we are painting like crazy. painting more. i dont like it. i get to go out there on my days off for a few days and just spend the whole time trying to clean and organize and paint. but its all fun and good stuff as its the only time i get to see my fiancee!
me and doug are haivng a lot of fun together wit hthe house and everything. its great learning and going stuff together. we get to do two hikes this summer. weve already decided.
wedding plans coming around. gotta get the flowers this month and do the registry, as i fdont think that is changes much..or should we wait until closer to the date. i know that by the end we will be stressed and i will have lots to do.
my new job is wonderful. its supported and relaxed. i must admitt i dont like the drive, but hey you cant have it all. its nice, its about 30% male to 70% female which jsut makes for a better work envirnment i find.
me and my best friend roby are going odwntown this weekend for a hockey game and some qt . i m really looking forward to it.

well my life has been crazy since september. I started off by going to mexico with my girlfriend from university for 10 day trip (alberta included) and had such a fun time. than i got back and got engaged! that was even funner. plans are going well, have hall, dress, church, pastor, etc...rings...jsut little by little. and now im in the midst of looknig for a new car..i think i found one...a nice mazda 3...it goes zoom zoom!
